Much like Boy George, Swedish synth-pop singer, Ms. Henrik revels in his androgynous, flamboyant charm, both visually and musically. And, much like the former Culture Club vocalist, Ms. Henrik knows how to hook us with a fiercely catchy tune.
His latest, “Like Lovers Do,” is an immediate earworm worthy of all kinds of head bobbing.
On tracks such as “1994”, “Bullshit Baby,” “My Only Vice,” and “Slow Dancing,” Ms. Henrik (real name Henrik Eksvärd) has shown an affinity for Erasure / Pet Shop Boys type flair that marries the best elements of 80s and 90s dance pop and new wave. He sticks to that winning formula on “Like Lovers Do,” a punchy, sparkling ode to finding romance and, well, romanticizing the best parts of being in love.
Ms. Henrik is both Robert Palmer and Palmer’s dancers in the video for “Simply Irresistible” and this song is equally hard to resist.
Watch the music video below that features a somewhat surprising third act after what at first seems like a lot of pointless driving.
